Are you looking for a fun and rewarding way to spend your time this May? Look no further! We are looking for volunteers to help deliver much-needed furniture to international students.
Our goal for 2023 is to deliver 1,500 pieces of furniture to 500 international students. To achieve this, we are pushing to do most of our pick-ups during the first two weeks of May. Student-donated furniture is ideal for incoming students, and we hope to reduce the number of summer pick-ups and minimize the amount of furniture that ends up in landfills.
Volunteering is easy and no experience is necessary. We have a job for everyone, regardless of whether you have a truck or can lift furniture. Plus, you’ll get a free T-shirt and lunch on each FGA Super Saturday!
We’re looking for volunteers from May 1-5 and May 8-12, from 6-8 PM each evening, and on Saturdays, May 6 and 13, from 8 AM-4 PM in half-day shifts. This will allow for increased loading efficiency in the trailers and give everyone a sense of teamwork and camaraderie.
After we evaluate the inventory from these two weeks, we’ll determine the need for further Saturday pick-ups through the rest of the summer. Of course, there’s also the BIG DAY on August 19, where we’ll need as many teams and volunteers as we can get to deliver furniture to all the students.
